As far as I can see this paper seems to be behind a paywall. Why is this posted here?

You can give Spacemacs a try if you want Vim bindings.

That version is extremely noisy, imo.

It might not be the best example, but the point stands. Succinct notation is important. "JSON" instead of "%*" might not be the greatest of examples but still.

As if "json" is any more searchable. Operators have a meaning that you learn quickly when learning the language. You wouldn't do math with "multiply" instead of "*", so why would you want that in a program

The obvious solution is not to compile your project with every change. See F# interactive: https://www.jetbrains.com/help/rider/FSharp_interactive.html

I like F# quite a bit, but the main selling point for me besides my algorithm stuff would be data science/ML. Sadly, the F# libraries like the R Type Provider, JSON Provider, etc. don't seem to work.

Since when are programming languages called language models?

> Before learning conditions you should already know that = means attribution, not testing for equality. Depends on the language. F# and CL, for example, would like a word.

General reminder for everyone that insect or bee hotels exist. Hang them in your garden, help insects. I have one on my balcony and roughly three dozen holes have been filled by a kind of wasp (not yellow jackets).

There's also SICP and Lisp in Small Pieces, maybe also Artificial Intelligence: A Modern Approach, that contain very interesting stuff with Lisp and in general.

It was never intended as a stand-alone language for large projects, rather as a glue and prototyping language. All the tacked-on "static typing" won't change this. I think it would be best if Python was used according to its
