No, $25M is the open market price for a license charges a company to pick up a license. Looks like someone sold a license for much more (0). Only 22 licenses for companies in Florida have been granted (1). In Florida, companies have to vert

It's not just the taxes. It's how hard it is to sell weed legally. All of the hoops and expenses add up. In Florida, it's like 20 licenses that cost $25M each. We should make it as easy as selling alcohol and then the prices

Additionally the taxes create operational overhead to stay compliant. Every product follows a chain of custody similar to pharmaceuticals. Even the scales used must be of the same spec used for gold weighing and cost roughly $1,500 each. It

The problem isn't logistical. Numerous solutions exist to make books available in some form that doesn't create much risk. The problem is the lack of desire to create more humane conditions in US prisons. Many large companies depe

It's actually pretty simple to break it down if you try to think about it. Rent seeking is evil when the renters absolutely need the service and cannot afford ownership. Otherwise, it's a service that some find useful. Home rental

Yeah, I think a relative difference would be more helpful than the absolute number. There are lots of admin people so lots of jobs are likely to end up marrying one.

Good on you. I think it's important for people to understand their own susceptibilities and react according. Interestingly enough, the boomers are the highest drug using generation by far (1) in the US. I wonder what impact this has on

More realistically: * Get a building named after you at Oxford or some other long lived college. * Create it as a very well hidden easter egg in the linux codebase. * Just create a family heirloom with the relevant info inside. Pass it down

Some ideas I don't see yet: * Launch a satellite into space powered by a fission reactor with excessive capacity. Plan the trajectory so that in 500 years it crashes back to Earth with an inscribed quartz tablet. * Commit a terrible cr

It's like you don't even know google exists. You just spout one false fact after another. Cannabis is one of the oldest cultivated plants in human history (1). It was smoked for pleasure and religiously long before Christianity be

It's not a myth and a few simple google with give you plenty of evidence. Here's a few: - Cancer - Weight gain (alcohol is more calorie dense than sugar) - Birth defects - Drunk driving: 10K deaths a year - Violence / sexual

Not really. Consensus is used all the time when a definitive answer isn't possible or attained. Most people assume the Riemann hypothesis is true and then build from there. Sometimes a definitive answer isn't possible yet.

I agree. It's going to get complicated though. There are hundreds of cannabinoids we're aware of with barely any scientific understanding of the effects. CBD, CBN, and CBG all started popping up in dispensaries in different combin

I think a lot of pro cannabis people are out of balance with viewing the negative side effects. It's a drug and has side-effects. It's much safer than tobacco and alcohol but it certainly has side effects including a strong psycho

To be frank, you sound pretty ignorant with this comment. I'm sure you didn't intend such but any modern perspective puts weed as a safer alternative to alcohol and a social indulgence used by many extremely successful people. Thi

I worked in the legal cannabis industry & I'm pretty sure it's just old puritan values for the most part. There's also a large history related to alcohol prohibition. Long story short, the government agency that handled e

Please shut this down or pivot. This isn't a mindfulness or meditation app. It's a serious medical issue to which you're presenting an untested solution. If I created a new pill and said it helps ADHD, I would be shutdown. Yo
