Aren't we there already? I think someone tried to do something similar as a jest related to the writers strike. Tried generating a script from AI to show how important actual writers were, but the script turned out really good.

The market is probably not super great, but one interview in 7 months. There's something with your resume or your search.

Things are taught when the individual is able to understand them. We don't teach 2 year olds how to read, we don't teach 7 year olds how to drive. Maybe you do need to be "this tall" to access the internet.

A lot of people only started using the internet in their twenties and do just fine.

I would bet a lot that there is probably very little difference in outcome between hiring randomly and hiring with these complicated, disconnected, grueling interview processes that every company seems to be doing now.

You should fight for higher salaries sometime (sic) <3 Additionally, a company putting this language in their termination agreement doesn't make it legal.

Can't read since it's paywalled, but I find this ironic. Male only spaces keep being dismantled to become more inclusive and now we're gonna blame men for not getting together in their own space to bound.

Tom Clancy was indeed such a terrible writer. While his books were very interesting when it comes to the tech and the strategic realism (this guy freaking knew his stuff there is no denying that), his style was awful, character development

Read the first sentence and just stopped. I'm neither afraid nor lazy. I value my time and my comfort. I like being able to drive my kids to school, having lunch with them during school vacation and always being home for dinner.

I'm not sure why you put the pure-luck-or-not aspect on par with the addictiveness. People can get addicted to winning, regardless of if it's due to their skills or just luck. The problem with e.g. slot machines is that anyone ca

I dont know if it's an issue, but what characterizes gambling for me is indeed the randomness. Otherwise we would literally call any game "gambling". I'm not even sure I would put sports betting in the same bucket as gam

I dont think hold em is equivalent to gambling. It is definitely a skill/game. It has an element of randomness just like most board games for example, but it's not gambling

Really? I work in the gambling industry and nobody in my household is allowed to gamble/bet online just because of that. When I worked in finance, myself and my wife also had a lot of restrictions in regards to our investments. Anyway

Is that what History taught us? I thought it taught us that humanity could go for literally centuries with a minuscule group of elites owning everything and the rest of the population owning nothing more than their clothes.

Just came to say this. I think the best way to represent failure is in the return type, but Java made that very cumbersome and noisy.

So what? I'm sure the US military has a plan somewhere to invade Canada or the Antarctic. That's what they do.

Considering how things written decades ago are weaponized to take down people nowadays, strong disagree. I absolutely do not want people to read the stupid things I would have written in my teens.

Yeah, the way I see it it's the stupid company using brain teasers like these that just burnt a bridge. Presumably you have other interviews.

Next time just refuse to dance and end the interview on the spot. I do that and it feels great to see the light dying in their eyes when they realize you're the one "dumping" them.

Sounded pretty clear and specific. You value feedback on your interview process but don't extend the same courtesy to applicants who would value feedback on their rejected application.

Why don't you update the run books? Why don't you modify the alerts/logs to give you more information? Why don't you create the missing run books when you run into undocumented issues?

What makes you think the US like it? I don't have a link readily available but I would bet my shirt that a large majority of the country is tired of the 60/70+ people running for president. But hey, you only get to pick between th

By this logic Hitler was also elected. Elections held in an occupied country don't put in place a legitimate government.

The Vichy regime wasn't the French government, it was the puppet for an occupying country. Allies helped everybody rebuild, including Germany.
