Always love hearing from Boom. By far the most impressive YC startup I know of. In a sea of interchangeable SaaS and mobile app ventures, they are out there doing hard things and actually trying to make a reality the kind of future we all d

Jaw-droppingly impressive to have gone from nothing to a custom ISA, C compiler toolchain and a whole freaking OS with userland apps in six months! My favorite detail was that having spent all this time on extra credit, they only managed to

I sure hope you're trolling, because as an American running an AT&T 4G phone in the heart of Silicon Valley, 40 Mbps is about what I normally get on a good day. And I assure you I pay way more than $2/ month. In fact, AT&T

Unfortunately the ubiquitous cookie consent warnings reek of design-by-government-committe suffers greatly for it. In theory, what could possibly be wrong with explicitly warning users that they're being tracked with a hidden piece of

Indeed. Someone with the fortitude and discipline to get really good at their tools can probably pick up whatever you throw at them. Its also a good sign that they might be into technology for its own sake, which also doesn't hurt.

Speaking personally, I've been a professional developer for almost decade and even in my relatively short career I've seen a lot of technologies come and go. I was reluctantly roped into it by my first boss, an enthusiastic Vim ad

This is really great work and exactly the kind of response I was hoping for - thank you. I wonder why tech like this is not being more widely used, for example on Amazon product pages. Especially with the well known reluctance as you mentio

Thank you! I just checked them out, and I stand corrected. Really an excellent design tool and very responsive. I see now that for certain applications WASM is indeed the right tool for the job.

I want to believe... I always thought WebAssembly had a lot of potential, however, in practice it doesn't seem to have turned out that way. I remember the first Unity demos appearing on these orange pages at least 4 or 5 years ago, and

The unquestioning supplication at the alter of 'engagement' (a sterile marketing term if there ever was one) is what lead to where we are now in the first place. This is an affliction that pervades the entire consumer internet sec

I miss JibJab. They're sort of still around, but they seem to have long since stopped making satirical flash animations they used to be famous for. Their Year in Review videos were hilarious and awesome back in the Bush & Obama era

One fairly decent argument against waiting until we have the technology is that it cuts against how we develop the necessary technology in the first place. We can't improve our propulsion/spacefaring tech without designing, buildi

You are being sarcastic, but this is literally true. Sadly loads of people don't even believe the truth of global warming (as if science is subject to the whims of people's beliefs). What would these people find more compelling? A

Agree. Strange choice for a headline that comes across as quite western slanted. To whom would they pay rent exactly - long dead kings and princes? When the families have been living there continuously for 700 years, who's the landlord
