It's how all Java collection interfaces work have worked since forever. They probably don't bother introducing new super-interfaces because Java code is never going to migrate from List etc.

In the US legal system a non-government entity can force any 3rd party to spend time and money for their benefit? That seems pretty weird.

Relevant to this discussion: Tesla only uses CCS in EU because it was mandated by law, just like USB-C now will be.

For a while Apple included micro-USB to lightning dongles with EU iPhones, but I think they've stopped doing that some time ago.

The Switch USB-C connector is notorious for being non-complaint to the spec, making charging it finicky. However I did not encounter as much trouble as you, 9 out off 11 chargers I try work. This problem is unique to the Switch however.

Yep, it works pretty well if you combine it with a JSON schema validator and call the validator in a isX(data: unknown): data is X type guard.

why do you care about my 10 "wip" commits on a feature branch? Why am I not allowed to package a change in a nice set of commits once it's done/reviewable?

Congratulations for being special, 99% of academia uses Matlab, a simple GUI text-editor or something like Anaconda. Emacs is such a fundamentally different paradigm from all other IT tools/editors that it just doesn't make sense

That is not the scientific consensus, although a position taken by some. Much more people agree that bio-accumilation is dangerous to health and nature, also because that ends up in humans when they eat things.

You're confusing peak pricing with average pricing. Peak price is about 50-250x as much as average price.

Peak pricing is much, much higher than the prices you quoted and in the ballpark of the trial. E.g. before the 2021 Texas outage the offer price for additional power was the legal cap, $9 / KwH at the time.

This is also because laughing at jokes is a way to (unconsciously) show that you get it, and/or belong with the "in-crowd". So people tend to laugh at jokes other's find funny, even if they wouldn't themselves, and

Given the cost a typical CI system vs the salary cost of a typical dev, the business case should be fairly easy that devs always should have CI capacity available.

You can still have them in 2 commits, and configure your CI to build both of them, and the first 1 should fail. We actually have a rule that there must be 1 commit just introducing a test that fails on CI for bugfix PRs.
