GCC has an intermediary format, which then compiles to machine code. So the front-end is similar to the main Rust compiler that compiles to LLVM bytecode.

Not OP, but this constraint means "the data must either be empty or unique", which is an extremely common constraint. In contrast, I've never encountered "only 1 entry is allowed not to have the data, all others must be

This argument goes back 30 years. As far as I know, not a hardware engineer, it's not that much of an issue since the only complicated thing is the decoder, and then it's microcode and not an issue. The TSO memory guarantee X86 is

Atmospheric O2 is about 21%. CO2 is about 0.042% currently. It's 2 orders of magnitude difference, which is also why human activity can have a relatively large impact on CO2 concentration.

Same experience for me. Checking the code it generated, and the subtle bugs it created which I missed until tests failed, made it at best a net-zero for me. I disabled it after trying for 2 months.

That actually sounds like good practice, due to humans not having good intuition about chance. Most people will interpret "8% of rain" as "it's not going to rain", and then be mad at the "inaccurate" weath

Definition question. It fits if you use "languages that appeared after or incorporated features from younger languages in newer versions". Also 4 years older, not a decade.

I wouldn't call that the same. In Typescript the arguments object is fully typed, while in Java you lose all typing.

Named arguments are in a lot of modern languages: Python, Kotlin, Swift, Javascript*, probably others. * APIs often do something similar by passing in an object with optional fields*

Most dutch people own a raincoat and -pants for biking, you put it over your clothes and remain dry. They cost maybe €30. No-one wears a helmet, nor do you need to.

Ground water isn't really receding, it's just pumped to a low level to benefit agriculture at early spring, which then fucks everyone up if the spring and/or summer is dry.

On the other hand, this is an easy to implement conversion, while changing such a fundamental thing from EFI sounds pretty hard, making it not worth it.

This does not match my experience, I have never encountered such a rip. I downloaded a few when Prime and Netflix would be fussy, and the quality is consistently higher than the 1080p (?) low-bitrate I get on auto in firefox.

> implement this at [...] and you get 2-6% productivity declines This is the assertion this whole argument hangs on. I'd challenge it. At a farm or assembly line probably, I highly doubt it in knowledge work.

This article is a load of bollocks. If another language would be the main programming one, there would be other competing conventions resulting in similar problems.

You're conflating multiple issues. Banning drugs doesn't stop their usage, nor does legalizing them, so the negative health effects of drugs are irrelevant. Funding criminals is only a problem because they are illegal. Addicts ste
