We want people to copyright less, and for copyright laws to be reasonable, and punishments proportionate. Not to do away with copyright alltogether. For whom are you speaking when you say "we?"

there's a big group of people out there that only want people to use their apps and are not in it for the money. It is my well considered experience that this is simply untrue. Sooner or later even these supposed saints of usability will

Last time I checked USA was a democracy. These kind of glib assertions play much better when they are factually correct.

The only reason we don't have it is we don't have accounts. It's even really a complaint. I am glad that when I show up on DDG (which I still do several times per day) I get the same high-quality results without regard to who I am. I'm

Personal domain blacklist. For whatever it's worth, blekko has this. It's one of the main reasons I switched to blekko over Duck Duck Go for the majority of my searching.

Nothing personal, but you are highly confused about the real world. You will not be employee #10 at Apple and they will not value contributions as wanting to make a difference. It's nice to think they will, but I so long as I have direct l

Why would you even ask this question? Either you are willing to size your actual market or you are not. Nothing HN can do for you can possibly overcome your predilection one way or another.

That is ridiculous. You can say that the the second decade of the 21st Century started in 2011... but to pretend that the 201x decade started in 2011 is not even wrong.

Your comment is especially amusing given the lineage of Sabre. In fact, wasn't the original internetwork-facing version of Sabre called Saabre?

Well it can't hurt. Sure it can, if I think you are more invested in your badge-earning game mechanics than in the money-earning game-mechanics for which I pay you. Of course, the chances that I review your SO score with this mindset seem

Fair enough. I'm not pretending to have any great insights here. In fact, it turns out I misread your initial comment, which led to this over-blown thread.

My boss has a sense of technical competemce which I do not care to review because he pays me 2.5 boatloads of money. He doesn't want to buy the book? Could not possibly care less. Somebody else might.

How would blood samples even help? We're talking about excluding content, not people. It's a certainty that the spam you can't define is the spam you can't catch. The "I know it when I see it" test doesn't scale.
