You raise a great point here. I’m born and raised in Europe, still live here now, but I’ve spent a great deal of time in the US, and the differences in how we perceive children might be the biggest gap between the two cultures. I much prefe

I’m convinced Medium failed the second they considered themselves more than a blogging platform. Initially it was a very well designed blog as-a-service but they kept shovelling on features and wanted to be a destination in its own right. I

Right, I might have been misconstruing the usage of the word. I’m just very sad of the quite common belief amongst neurotypical people that ADHD can be “cured” or treated with these “one simple trick” type of solutions. Especially as the ar

Never said I don’t consider them treatments, I absolutely do and feel like they’re the most effective solution. Only talking about non-drug solutions as the article specifically mentions it as an alternative to medicine. Having said that, i

“Treat” is the wrong operative word here. There is no cure or treatment for ADHD, but there are definitely non-pharmaceutical strategies, which combined with education and therapy, can help mitigate symptoms. I’m sure the app works great to

No joke. I have very good eyesight and bought a 4K 32" display to run at @1x. When I started using the display, I had no issue with the pixel pitch, but the extra cognitive load of being able to see so much at once was such a downside

At the time the argument was pretty sound as it relates to all apps using web views, not just browsers. Imagine how much worse the iOS experience would be if most developers used an off-the-shelf shoddy HTML rendering engine because it supp

The irony of this is that you'll end up with a fingerprint that is probably more unique than just running standard Chrome at 1920x1080.

What an incredible response time. I had no idea e-ink had advanced this much. As for use-cases however, I fail to see why I would want this instead of a regular monitor as a second display. But incredibly cool tech!

True, but if the frequency response already drops off that heavily at 1kHz you're going to need some very serious amplification to use it for anything other than speech, even after applying DSP - which I'm guessing defeats the who

For what it’s worth, I’ve had the same experience on x86 with Logic being stable as a rock, it just seems to be a M1 thing. Without a doubt this can be sorted out down the road, but Apple’s insistence on only using AU in Logic means that ev

Anecdotally, Logic has consistently been the worst DAW in my testing, performance-wise, when it comes to hosting plugins. Maybe it's due to the AU format, but the de facto result is the same. I run Ableton, FL, Pro Tools and Logic (mai
