Is this missing half the article? The page just stops on mobile and there’s no footer, nothing. I count 4 paragraphs in total.

Isn’t that what DNS is for? I get that 8.8.8.8 or 1.1.1.1 is easier to remember than an IPv6 address. But once you use 82.54.132.87 addresses - is it really that different from either saving an IPv6 in your ssh config file, or resolving it

Until recently, every new LIR got a /22 with RIPE. That’s how I got mine. Right now, none are public any more so you indeed have to buy them. The whole RIR and IP ownership process is so antiquated it’s almost hilarious. It’s on par wi

Yes, I think it would. Because despite the obvious business advantage they have, any would-be competitor would need IPs at a similar scale. That will either cost a ton more than Amazon has, or they simply won’t be available. I own 2048 IPv4

That’s the whole basis for democracy is it not? That if everyone votes in their own best interest, you’d get a result that best reflects the voting populace.

You are spot on. The big advantage Apple had is slowly fading away: quality control. First the keyboards, now this. As a freelance developer, my MacBook Pro is my livelihood. It’s dependence, great support and MacOS / Linux CLI was it’

Very interesting article. Explains spacetime in a way non-physicist like me understands. Even better than Hawking’s book did. Or maybe those books built the base of understanding that this article now profits from ;-) Fascinating stuff. Alw

Go for the 16 inch. I’ve upgraded from my 2015 model (couldn’t stand the butterfly keys) and the wait was worth it! Great keyboard, physical escape key, 16 threads, large screen - great machine. It took them 5 years to get there so don’t ge

Yup, adopt to the business you’re in. As in, the company. Make suggestions if you think it’s worthwhile but in the end accept that there’s a “that is the way” in any company and you’re getting paid to learn and work with that “way”, and bui

Seeing as the advice is given to work in feature branches, I think the target audience is those who just started working with git? Or on a bigger project, with other people? The only time I'd maybe work without feature branches is on a

Amen. A properly configured and hardened VPS on a service like Digital Ocean or Linode can run and vertically scale your app well into profitability. It’s really not that hard to manage a server with Nginx, Php (or whatever) and Mysql (or w

It’s the same with ANC. It’s still noise pumped into your ear. So even though you may perceive it as silence because it cancels out the sound waves entering your ears, it’s still sound entering, and thus facilitating tinnitus when exposed t

Same for me, the tinnitus is actually comforting. Like the noise when showering vs taking a bath. As long as my hearing is fine, I’m fine. The only solution for tinnitus is habituation. Fighting it puts it into focus and makes it worse with

If it’s related to your neck then it’s tension related, that’s one form of tinnitus, one that can be remedied. When you have actual ear damage, it’s quite another story :)
