The thing is, the sites that benefit most from these client-side-centric approaches are single page applications [1]. I'd imagine the benefits of having prewritten reusable widgets are the same for SPAs as they are for desktop software. Th

On a very similar note, if you want people to upvote you on another HN thread, you should really probably link to news.ycombinator. com instead of . org so people like me won't have to sign in again. :)

Cool project! But I must say, the algorithm that computes the percentage score seems rather poor, at least if the goal is to score the percent visual difference between the selected color and the actual. It gave me 100% on Coca-Cola (and

Yup. My first-gen white MacBook back in 2006 was one of the ones afflicted by the random shutdown issue ( http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1599 ). It took over a year iirc of local Apple stores blindly trying heat sink and logic board replac

Have you considered upgrading to stumpwm by the same author? It has all the features ratpoison does plus support for floating layout via gnew-float, among other things. And it's written in Common Lisp, so you can hack/customize/extend it

Thanks! Would companies using Betable need to get licenses from the same countries that Betable already has licenses from (which so far means the UK) or would Betable's licenses mean that users of Betable would be covered as well. Edit: Ju

Is it definitely clear that it would be legal for a startup based in the U.S. and with American founders to use Betable? It wasn't until "Black Friday" ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Friday_(2011) ) that it became clear the U.S. gove

For those of us who don't have an available modifier key (or at least one that's accessible without looking down at the keyboard), is there a way to use a prefix key à la ratpoison and stumpwm? There's a patch for dwm that provides that fu
