There are myriads of viruses and microbes that our immune system successfully fights every day. Imagine being constantly (slightly) sick instead. What I'm getting at is maybe we need to teach people how to grow thicker skin? To become

No, I didn't know. But why should I care about that when the "art piece" I'm seeing at the moment doesn't impress me?

To OP and people who elaborately configure their keyboards - is it worth it? Does it improve performance by a meaningful amount? I've been thinking about observing my typing / window interaction patterns and optimizing them, but n

The common theme in the discussion here that doing X "makes my colleagues happier". Do you know a real person that became happier once you changed "master" to "main"? Also you said "high rewards". Wha

Correction - what is happening is not an "invasion", it's war. War, plain and simple. The first step to fixing a problem is naming it. And Russians can't even do that.

Ah good old "but they lynch African Americans in USA" distraction. Russian TV loves it. BTW today is day 55 of the war in Ukraine. 55 days it's not about "sides of the story" it is about Russians bombing and killing

I'm with you. I hope more companies follow this. Yes, Russians will suffer. Yes some of them tried to change things and paid dearly for that. I'm sorry for them. But up until a week ago vast majority didn't care. Majority of

Heh, "point to Russians". I have several friends in Moscow, and up until the last few days they were in complete denial about Putin's intentions or troops buildup. There were memes, jokes, etc. The propaganda inside Russia is

You don't have to do most of those things though. Ever tried just traveling somewhere (driving, flying) without any preparation at all? Also, notebook of receipts? Man, this is bleak.

My problem with the straw ban is the ban itself. Why not give people a choice, incentivize different behavior? Just put paper straws next to plastic ones, with a feel-good message, and voila. There is a limit of things you can ban before pe
