I'm still on OSX 10.9.5 (Mavericks). Don't really like the iOS-style UI stuff they added after and don't need any of the features. The next time I have an iOS project that'll probably force me to upgrade though...

Love these, but patio11 needs a better microphone setup, its so echo-y and robotic! Please take this as helpful feedback rather than hurtful criticism.

Which RAM are you using? I've only been able to find 4GB sticks and that are unbuffered ECC. All of the 8GB I've found are registered ECC.

Just today I ran DiskUtil and verify disk told me my disk needed to be repaired, but I needed to do that by rebooting into recovery mode and running DiskUtil there. So I do that and it tells me my disk can't be repaired, back up what d

When I lived there I relied mainly on 3G. You can get a prepaid SIM for ~$6, and you pay around $0.50 per day for unlimited data. It is fairly slow at 1 Mbps up/down, but its enough to make Skype calls and the like.

If you have been playing for a while and are still having difficulty check out DarkTwinge's video tutorial for some good tips: http://www.twitch.tv/darktwinge/c/2609597

Brilliant game. Super excited for this. If you haven't played FTL before, don't heed the complaints about the randomness, it's not as difficult or random as it may at first seem. And frankly failing in this game while you are

If I remember this correctly if it wasn't for the tax breaks Twitter would have relocated outside of SF. So saying SF is losing money on Twitter is pretty misleading. I'd say Twitter is helping the city by building their office in

Pretty cool. Anyone try to get this running on openwrt? Seems like the most logical place to have it.

This is the most interesting part for me: "Android has a much bigger fragmentation problem than Internet Explorer. Supporting only the latest 2 Android releases (4.3 and 4.4) would mean targeting less than 3% of the Android devices.&qu

I am actually looking forward to this release. No real features but hints of new behind-the-scenes improvements make me think this will bring some needed Snow Leopard-like refinement to Mountain Lion. Here's hoping they can fix fullscr

I think Airbnb is a good service. However it is not a hotel service, and I think they try to market it a little too similarly to one. For instance, making a booking is usually a much slower back and forth process between you and the host. I

Retina MacBook Pro 15" 16GB/512GB SSD. Which I like mainly for the screen, use it at the simulated 1920x1200 res. It sucks that it can barely play flash or do other cpu intensive things without it getting fucking hot and loud. Its

Things like this are why you should avoid phone contracts. I'm been happy with StraightTalk. I have the AT&T variant and it has been quite good. Only downside is no service outside of the US.

Google Now has been pretty useless for me. Its mostly an annoyance, I'm always having to dismiss its place suggestions and "Time to home/work" notifications.

I think iOS 4.x was the best iOS. I'd probably stay there too if apps didn't start requiring iOS5+. About the only thing I like in iOS5 is the weather app.

Favorite quote: "It saddens me that America’s so-called government for the people, by the people, and of the people has less compassion and enlightenment toward their fellow man than a corporation."
