When I used Arch last year, they also regularly break things in ways that require manual fixes every month or so. So don't dare update without first reading the news, lest you end up with a broken system and no way to find out why it broke.

I know for myself at least, upgrading to newer hardware is mostly a big distraction from work or whatever it is I probably should be spending time on. That said, I had a mini9 for a few weeks and typing on that tiny keyboard was pretty pain

Is it just me or does the Nexus Q look like the Empire's probe droid from the Empire Strikes Back?

In-N-Out is usually soggy and nasty so seems like a good thing to delivery. If you want something better in SF, Super Duper is pretty good.

Was interested until I got to: "glossy anti-glare coating". I think I'd have just said it was glossy.

My recollection is that Apple has not compared very favorable with their competitors in this respect for a while now. And now that their products are becoming increasingly difficult to repair/disassemble, perhaps the strategy is to bail now

I did on my older MacbookPro5,1. It didn't even seem like I dislodged much dust, but it made a huge difference. Now the fans don't go above 3-4000 rpm even with the cpu pegged, which is quiet. Before it would consistently spin the fan at ma

Ok you're right about it not deleting by default. But there is an option to delete mail after its been accessed with POP. And in any case Gmail hides the message after you've read it, but you could still have an error writing the message to

Actually do. Since he's using getmail, its making a copy to his local system. It just happens to be able to do that over IMAP. You are better off doing this than doing the same with POP because Gmail's POP deletes mails as you read them, wh

Hmm I'm skeptical. I tried a similar setup with a number of free Voip services, Google Voice, and a Nexus One. The voice quality was very unpredictable, often unusable. That on Wifi no less. I can't imagine trying to do the same on 3G. Mayb

Finally an answer and seems like a reasonable one. For a time I had both a Nexus One and iPhone 3GS. The Nexus One was faster in just about about everything, but using it just felt like work. The iPhone comparatively was a pleasure to use.

Yeah agreed. Pretty skeptical of this list. Everywhere in the world I've been there is Coca Cola. And Nokia. I don't think Apple is known in Africa for instance, I could be wrong though.

I really hope its Android and not Microsoft. WP7 seems more like a side or backward step compared to Symbian. Taking advantage of all the good things about Android would seem a smart move to get Nokia back in the game. Look how far Apple ha
