This is statement has one of the highest value:word rations about programmers that I've seen in a while. I'd adjust it only slightly to be: Real Programmers Release. Because, we don't really "ship" software anymore like we used to. We just

The valuation assigned for a small/seed round is not the same as the valuation someone would use to buy a company. Example: An investor agrees to invest $1,000 in seed money at a $10 million valuation. Is the company worth $10 million? Wo

Anyone interested in a (paid) project to develop a simple version of this in PHP? I could use this kind of feature for another project I'm working on. If interested, ping me.

I don't think 6% will get you 1-3 "rock stars" at the stage that most YC companies are. Much too early for that. At that stage (where cash compensation is minimal if not non-existent), the equity that would need to be given a real "rock st

Indeed, that would be great. But just the act of simplifying the docs to a standard set of usable (because they're balanced) documents is a major step forward. Kudos to the YC team for another innovation that is sorely needed. This shou

We're using YUI pretty extensively at my startup HubSpot. Beyond the functionality, one thing we really like is that Yahoo! is continuing to invest in the product, posting regular updates, and building a community around it.

We've hired several salespeople, and have been successful with it. Here are the things I'd figure out before going too far: 1. Do you need "transactional" selling (lots of small deals), or more "consultative/solution" selling. 2. How imp
