If OP and his up-voters think a creature pawing at something is a grand UX insight, more power to them. My only point is that the fact that this has been flagged before puts them in a minority.

That's not the point. The point was that a large number of people thought it not HN worthy. Your individual dissent doesn't matter. Sorry, democracy sucks.

Truth is the ultimate defense for libel suits. Saying "elite dating.com (or whatever site it is) sued a person I know for $800 for contesting the charges of a CC and here is the proof" cannot be libel, plain and simple.

That's probably a reference to their new Code Contracts feature: Code Contracts provide a language-agnostic way to express coding assumptions in .NET programs. The contracts take the form of pre-conditions, post-conditions, and object inva

Great line re: the 'pick up artists'-- If it all sounds cheesy, tedious, manipulative, obvious, condescending to women, maybe kind of gay, it’s because it is. Pretty funny to read that coming from the Weekly Standard.

Linus Torvalds famously said the same exact thing whilst bashing C++ (instead of Ruby as Zed does here). C++ is a horrible language. It's made more horrible by the fact that a lot of substandard programmers use it, to the point where

Not John Carmack, but what about a junior dev? What about the QA people? How far down the chain do you go with who gets to take a copy home? On a large operation you can't rule out the bitter ex-employee factor either.
