+1 to this. Uniqlo’s checkout app is an amazing app if only for its absolute simplicity and reliability. This is a model for all these apps to aspire to. We can only hope…

Maybe it would be more interesting to consider - if Flutter was built in Go, would Dart have a reason to exist? It seems that aside from Flutter Go is a superset of Dart in terms of library and board community support / usage.

True for Singapore - rent here is very expensive, could be 50% or more of monthly salary for younglings. Singles in their 20's do not qualify for govt subsidised housing (HDB). Rents here in Singapore range for 3k + for a basic apart

This is me. Super jerky FP games bring on the symptoms quick, but over extended periods it improves, but never goes completely. I usually end up with headaches after a while.

Microsoft Office (word especially) for macos. I’m required to use at the moment, but oh boy for decades old, mature software it’s frustrating buggy.

From C.V - "Did stuff no one else wanted to, made other employees 81% more productive" - Would love to know how that metric was generated ;) OP - All the best with your job search.

Yes, this exactly - the quality of writing on a lot of shows these days is absolutely abysmal. Not just dialogue, the plots - so much 'tropes copying', pointless or stupid 'reveals' or just plain dumb twists to make thi

I feel the analogy comparisons are not about the device type or use cases for them, rather its about the potential for it to be a paradigm shift in device categories. To me it feels more like the shift that the original Mac introduced to

Yes, exactly, I also have worked directly with network SMSC's (the service managing the SMS integration with the cellular network), and this is absolutely the case. Networks can and do both spoof, delay or refuse to send delivery repor

This is an abhorrent response from LAION, I could image such from a large corporate, but a non-profit generating 'models for democratization' (their words). I guess they think that others data should therefore be included without

I was in Tokyo / Kyoto last week, and while I did not notice any difference in the number of families with young children from where I’m based (Singapore), what I did notice was the larger number of older workers in all kinds of jobs

Wow… Singapore is not even on the list. As a Kiwi expat I can tell you Singapore is at Hong Kong levels of unaffordableness for non locals. The Singapore government housing scheme skews theses statistics significantly. If you are a local he

Nope, senior devops / sys admin folk here in Singapore are more in the 7K - 8.5K (usd) range. Unless of course the employer is paying FFANG level salaries

I would suggest renaming the Design category to Documentation. Design is subjective, so user generated content might be an option, but ultimately docs and examples as (non subjective) a measure are probably more useful to most developers.

Watson Assistant has been around for a while now, at least since 2016 when I first used it for a project, and it's been used extensively by that company and its customers since. So maybe not quite fair to include it with the others.

Er, I must be missing an important nuance here, can someone who understands this explain. What is the real world use case for this? I'm afraid I don't understand what this provides that either wasm or the browser sandbox does not.
