Adobe's actually done investors a favour and made a realistic enterprise valuation of the company for everyone. If it's worth $20bn to them then it's not likely to float for $5bn. They clearly think there's value there o

You also see it with certain companies that have a very active presence on HN. Any negative comment is downvoted aggressively. Downvoting on HN is rather uncommon, people tend to tell you why they disagree with you rather than vote you down

A cyber ransom demand at one of the most important companies in the world, a lynchpin of digital manufacturing is not reassuring at all. Can their security really be that bad?

That's a paltry amount, why would they need to raise so little, don't they have the cash flow to cover it? I guess VCs arent in the mood to be so generous with their money anymore with the competition for capital so intense. We&#x

I've never heard the argument that AI art is immoral. I know it scares of lot of people because it's going leave them with less work. But that's just what technology does, kills some industries and gives birth to new ones. It

Its gone past the point where people can just brush it off as the rantings of a crank. Congress are troubled about it. If there are organisations gathering alien tech without oversite and covertly, then imagine what they could do with it if

I think lemmy can work for if you want to move your sub across, it may never replace the monolithic reddit but its an adequate replacement for people that want to discuss a specific topic. It can work as an ok substitute.

Yeah, you're right about Secret Santa, that was such a cross sub community activity. It was really petty of them to get rid of it but it was foretaste of what was to come and their attitude towawrds the community spirt of Reddit.
