True, but much less of an issue than just leaving the same version of keys in place. In case you're curious, here's how the cloud-init library generally used for ec2 and ec2 compatible clouds works: https://github.com&#

One good thing to note is that any VM image using cloud-init (a package for debian/rhel systems) should automagically generate a new host_key set for any new system image. Basically if you build a system image for EC2 or any system tha

Any chance you'll be adding/have Puppet support as well? We have our cart hitched pretty firmly to it at this point. Congrats on the upcoming release!

Puppet-lint ;). But seriously, cool to see a puppet module for dokku as I imagine the author will continue to work on it even with this new project. I'd say keep working on it if you have time!

Yeah, CF is a very powerful toolkit (as you mention with the API), but part of the power seems to come coupled with the complexity. I've seen some scripts/documentation to install on Openstack (this is the best so far http:/

Indeed and Cloud Foundry has 'enterprise' forks as well (Stackato: http://www.activestate.com/stackato/compare-with-cloud-found... ). Essentially I think there's a huge market here and all I see for DotCl

Not sure I completely agree with this. I don't know what your internal discussions were, but at least one of your competitors has an 'enterprise' option in which they give you your own version of the toolkit. Sadly among this

Read comment up-stream. I disagree with this standpoint and I'm sure can find you stories out there beyond mine to back up what I'm suggesting. DNS hosting as well is so inexpensive unless you're in the hundreds of millions o

Okay, thanks for clarifying. The next question then would be, if you do reach your stretch goals and implement auto-scaling, would you at that point have cloud/MaaS API integration?

Well, fail2ban can help, but that is only going to be generally quick enough to keep up with the initial ramp-up of the attack I'd expect. Once the full attack gets going you're probably going to be seeing requests from thousands

Indeed. I'm a bit curious as to why DotCloud released Docker? I mean, sure, someone was going to have an easy-to-use container system sooner or later, but for now that is one of the few defining features that DotCloud has going for the

Very cool! Been looking for something like this since Docker was announced. Basically Cloud Foundry is far too complex for what I/we need but this would fit the bill nicely. One question though, what is going to be 'the cluster&#x

Yep. Many businesses should (and a lot don't...) make this cost comparison. Also, 256GB of memory in a server is surprisingly not that impressive (even for a 1U server) these days! Crazy to think there are 1U machines you can cram 1TB

I'd say it's vastly out of date now. You can squeeze a LOT into new Dell/HP 1U/2U servers. Their R620 systems can take nearly a terabyte (768GB) of memory per server and the R720 can do the same, but with the 720XD it ca

PHP never really went away. It's still quietly powering many, many websites out there (and not just sites running a copy of Wordpress). There are active developers making loads of projects with it still. I think it gets a bad rap on HN

Indeed. My wife and friends in the same industry make quite a good living off of romance novel writing. Women have their erotica, but it's more 'in your head' kind of stuff, than the visual market of porn for men.
