Yes. My point is that I find stepping through code (e.g. using pdb) to be overkill in most cases.

No, but I rarely find it helpful to step through code. That's the other 2%.

I've been a Python developer for more than ten years. Approximately 98% of the time I need to debug something I use print() statements and this: import IPython; IPython.embed()

Hey everyone. I made this because I got tired of hearing "If you enjoyed this episode, don't forget to leave us a review wherever you listen to podcasts." I hope this is useful to any podcasters who happen to read HN.

It's taking your location and heading and using lat/long coordinates returned by the Wikipedia API to try to figure out where those articles are in relation to you.

It really depends on the smartphone you have. It's simply opening the article inside a web browser embedded in the app.

Sorry about that. Could you let me know the OS and browser versions you're on?

This is interesting, thanks. I'm seeing the same behaviour here - very few teams use it to hang out while they work, they're typically using to jump on ad-hoc video/audio calls or screen share.

Not too much. Slack has built-in video calling features already and what I'm doing is outside of their core focus. But it's a possibility.

Discord was certainly an inspiration here, as well as the now-defunct Sqwiggle. I'm seeing some teams using it like that, but most of them like to jump in-and-out of the room during the day as needed.

I can relate to this! There's a slight misconception about this being 'always-on'. It's supposed to get across that the rooms are always available to use and that the URL doesn't change. I need to work on the copy.

Founder here - yes I can appreciate that. I'm a fan of deep work. I've found that most teams jump in-and-out of rooms during the day and the original idea of hanging out together while you work hasn't really materialised.

Yes it does allow you to open multiple channels at the same time. I don't know how useful that is, but I'd like to see how people actually use it before jumping to my own conclusions. The idle state is definitely something I'

Could you imagine using the current feature set to do this? Is there anything missing?

Right, there are a number of tools like that including the (now defunct) Sqwiggle. My goal was to create something simple to fit a few use cases and see what people do with it.

The plan is to keep the current functionality free and add premium features for remote teams in the future.

This is an interesting use of Cloudflare Workers. My unsolicited advice is to list some specific SEO fixes and improvements in the app description. It's not clear to me what it does and the screenshots are hard to parse.

It is pretty complicated. The article states that it took 9 years of R&D to get it to work. SurfStream is nothing like real surfing.

Is this not the same as integrating 'Login with Facebook' and sharing my user's profile data with a third party service using server-side API requests? A practice that I'm sure is rife. The third party JS scripts simply
