I wanted to announce JET, a different take on how to make numeric Python much faster! It's very much inspired by TensorFlow -- a computation graph is compiled to C++. And there are constants, variables and placeholders, like in TensorF

I've used CGAL extensively in the past and found the implemented algorithms to be of fantastic quality. The major pain points for me were also the really sub-par Python bindings. Which are actually worse now, since they've switche

I faced similar problems with the SWIG bindings ... almost impossible to add any functionality and they lack quite a lot of features. That's why I started a new set of Python bindings, based off the old ones and using pybind11: https:

There is also project "shashlik" by the KDE folks which, if it works as advertised at some point, should make it possible to run Android apps natively in Linux. https://github.com/shashlik/shashlik

Yeah, I agree. In the meantime there is an awesome re-implementation in Python called Mathics. It's also fun to hack some of the not-yet implemented Mathematica commands (I did that last summer). https://github.com/math

How would you use babel? Would you compile to ES6 JS and then let babel transform it to ES5 or ES4 js that you can ship?

I really like that I can stay in python for everything! That's why I've recently chosen RapydScript to power SilverFlask, a Flask CMS I'm working on as a side project. Really simplifies development and speeds it up.

It's not exactly the same, but UberWriter (disclaimer: I made it) is capable of Markdown -> Slideshow export, too. More specifically, it's a functionality provided by pandoc.
