Same here. The summer I mowed lawns in 1973, I spent all the money on pinball and pizza in Old Orchard Beach, Maine. Some of the older pinball machines were still a nickel.

The output of the dongle in it's normal DVB-T mode is an MPEG-2 Transport Stream. The maximum bitrate of DVB-T is 31.67 Mbps or ~4 Mbytes/s. It's thought that the USB interface was designed to support that rate and not a whol

GNU Radio comes with receivers for ATSC and DVB-T. You'll need an SDR that can provide 6 MHz (ATSC) or 8 MHz (DVB-T) of bandwidth (which an RTL-SDR cannot do). DVB-T2 and ATSC 3.0 receivers are too difficult and nothing exists for them

On 8086, the assembler managed the segmentation. All you had to do was load the DS (and possibly ES) register with an assembler defined symbol at the beginning of your function. I never worked with the 80286, I pivoted to the i960 around 19

Yes, it was very disappointing. I was hoping the 8 cores would give a speedup for compiling code, but no dice. On a large Linux build, the BPI-F3 with make -j8 takes exactly the same time as a make -j4 on the VisionFive 2.

Much of the TV spectrum has already been reallocated. Channels 70 to 83 to 1G cellular in 1983. Channels 52 to 69 to 4G cellular in 2008. Channels 38 to 51 to 4G/5G cellular in 2017. The current allocation is channels 2 through 36. Cha

I get similar results here. The Banana Pi BPI-F3 was a big disappointment. I was expecting some improvement over the VisionFive 2, but no dice. A big Linux build at -j8 on the BPI-F3 takes essentially the same time as a -j4 build on the VF2

This is a wacky idea, but the "modern" thing to do would be to repurpose seldom used 2-meter repeaters and make them 5G gNBs in the 3300 to 3450 MHz ham band (which overlaps NR band 78). Then you could directly use your cell phone
