Node.js and the community behind it are really great. It helped me put bread on my table for several years now. I remember I passed through all the "trends" around it and I'm super impressed how fast the ecosystem is evolving

Job boards usually sucks. Your best job will be when you are passively hired ( saw that you are a software engineer ). This, you can achieve with spending some time to build a physical ( go to events ) or virtual network ( LinkedIn ) surrou

Living in Berlin and coming from Eastern Europe I would say that people smoke and drink a lot more than US. It’s quite normal to have a glass of wine with your business lunch in Italy and Portugal. As well as a cigarette allowed restaurants

Cigarette break is not a break every time. You usually can't stop thinking about work for the 10 minutes you spend outside. It's quite the opposite. Smoking break usually shifts you the direction of thinking and you solve a proble

Vagrant's private network is really cool as well. I use it to test ansible provisioning scripts for server infrastructure. config.vm.define "ums-01" do |machine| machine.vm.network "private_network",

I wonder how JetBrains shared the license for their IDE with Android the license. As far as I know IDEA community edition is open-source, but I'm wondering if they license allows what Android did with it.

Working on computers that aren't yours and remaining secure is quite challenging. I would recommend you to use any password, but rotate the credentials every time you enter them in one of these.

One of the great practical examples of this repository is to serve as a counter-argument against people, who complain that NodeJS is not multi-threaded. For anything else, IMHO the use-case will be so narrow, that I wonder how MS will justi

Only comment I would make is that you can use CircleCI instead of Travis to get for free running tests on private repos. The configuration is similar and the benefits as well.

You can get far better IDE experience if you use TypeScript, instead of plain JS. Webstorm does a lot of things that are quite popular in IDEA, because it can rely on the type system. This includes refactoring and realtime compiler errors.
