Looking at the listing you provided, the wide majority of the non-American unicorn startups are from China, with some scattered startups in other eastern countries. So I think the shift in startup-location speaks more about China's suc

I know that Weed, California was a company town historically. There has been some recent conflict regarding who owns the water in the town, as the company sold the water to the town for a dollar a year for a contract of 50 years that expire

I still keep my search and address bar separate, mainly because the search bar is static across tabs, whereas the address bar loses information whenever I click away. I like a bit of both styles, though I generally use the search bar.

Maybe it would be interesting to have somewhat of a switch between the 2D map or the torus map, in that while playing 2D you can enter a challenge state where the map switches.

Yeah, no kidding. The presentation in the American conference is much more insightful and gives a stronger perspective. And the EU conference didn't even show the image until 8 minutes in.

So how is the long-term outlook for Firefox? I believe that the Yahoo deal is (or already has) set to expire, so how will the browser keep afloat financially? I fear Google boxing out Firefox into a small corner of the market somehow.

I have found that Wikipedia is pretty great, with the sole exception for anything that is remotely political. I would look elsewhere for such content.

Escapism is certainly an aspect of autism. My personal theory is that autism is akin to really dense hair, in that your mind is less flexible, and thus themes of constancy arise early in development. This analogy implies both that an autist

I am not too sure about autism being directly a further male brain than the normative population. As a counter, the number of Male-to-Female transgender people in the speedrunning community is staggeringly high, and should be given some tho

Stories like this are why I cannot in good faith donate to large charities. There needs to be more details on the inner workings on these charities, and even if they are in good faith it seems that smaller (and likely religious) organizatio

I personally really enjoy Gamelin and Green's Topology, and (if you need it) the first chapter goes through topology of metric spaces. The rest of the book is well written; I couldn't quite find myself to like Munkres.

I wonder if the in-house reason for liberating military recruitment protocols is the same reason for liberation of sexual standards: there is a smaller pool of interested applicants/mates, so we make do with what we can.
