I've been in the Milanote beta and I really love it. I agree with the other commenters about the smart UI choices that I haven't seen elsewhere: column notes, unsorted list, no zoom, etc. Sometimes I need to arrange notes across a

My four-year-old son is the same way. He talks to my Google Home all the time, asking it weird questions (which it sometimes answers! "Hey Google, are you a robot?" "I prefer to think of myself as your friend."), getting

I need to get a hearing test, but I can often hear things that people around me can't (TVs, radios, bad speakers, etc). But put me in a noisy bar or restaurant and I'm at a loss. I figure it's my ADHD as well. On a related no

Sweet game! Congrats on the launch. I'll definitely be playing more. Would love to get a writeup about the tech and the game design decisions/tradeoffs you've made along the way.

Whoa, missed this. Sorry for the late reply. I have! I like Scrivener as well and it's very powerful but its "does everything" functionality has led to some bloat in the UI department. Ulysses seems more thoughtfully designed

I dig Ulysses for the Mac[0]. Its distraction-free mode is very nice, but the organizational tools are there once you need to start stringing together larger pieces of text. I do wish someone would make a non-OSX version that was as nice. [

Yeah, this kind of short feedback loop where mistakes are easy to find is perfect for a teaching environment. iPython, tonicdev... and now this.

Sure! Here's a short write-up I've been meaning to do that you spurred me into: https://drhayes.io/secret-game/map-entity-loader.html The save system is next on my list of write-ups.

webpack allows some pretty sophisticated resource pipelines that go beyond what you can do with browserify, especially around binary resources. One of my use cases is working on a HTML5 game. I pre-process all the tilemap levels to add uniq

This is my exact issue! That's what keeps me coming back to Atom even though Sublime is much, much faster. The last package I saw tackle this required you to make a project -- which I just never do in Sublime.

I really like your write-up. I'm sad that the Couchapp thing never took off or is getting de-emphasized. That was one of the really brain-bendy ideas about Couch that I loved, that these DB-side applications could also replicate to oth

I love Couch and I feel totally relaxed. What are people building with it? A spiffy log package was the first thing I thought of and indeed that's one idea listed on this page: http://docs.couchdb.org/en/2.0.0/

I would hope not. I've broken things at big companies before and, mostly, everyone just wants it to work again. Mistakes happen sometimes.

Having a kid did that to me, too. I've always been a bit of a crybaby, but now I kinda lose it when children-related kidnappings or deaths happen in movies or TV shows or the news. Tycho, from Penny Arcade, said it best: "When I w

That's a good point about the idiots. A lot of this discussion feels similar to discussions around developer toolchains as a safeguard against bad code, in a way. Like, we're all well-meaning people who want to do something about
