I recently attended a lecture given by an astronomy professor/cosmologist who concurred that yes, the big bang is on its way out as the accepted truth. Like a swirling drain, we're getting closer, and there are aspects of the theory that a

Somewhere there are some lawyers saying the exact same thing about someone they hired to build them a website. "Seriously... this kid started complaining when I told him I wanted it like X, and he said it should be like Y cause it'll be eas

So a 1-2 hour drive for anyone living in Bev Hills, Hollywood, Brentwood, Santa Monica, etc... Not that Union Station is much more central. LA is just too damn big (geographically) to make that viable.

I feel this same way about "brogrammers", do they even exist? I've never met one, and I'm a pretty social guy. I'm sure there are some douchy guys who happen to be programmers, but are there enough to even call it a trend? Or is it just

I know. If you are talking about some of the most advanced apps Google develops, I'm sure they will cease supporting FF10 & Chrome 20 at some point this year. I prefaced my post by saying "I'd assume you are talking about Google search

Yes, but then you miss out on auto-completion for searches. Hence, why I prefer the separate bars. If I know the URL or title of the page (for FF's Awesomebar), cmd+L (URL bar). If I want to search, cmd+K (search box). It's all personal p

Having grown up in the midwest, now living in SF, and commuting daily to SV, yeah, most of the world thinks it's the same thing. SF is just a suburb of SV.

Just about every library & language has a Request-like wrapper. It's nothing unique to Node, and certainly nothing unique to client-side JavaScript where native XHR is a nightmare.

I came here with the same question. Considering I come from PHP & JavaScript where the native APIs are awful, wrapping is a necessary step for sanity. Interesting that Python didn't have this until now.

Funny. But to be fair, a Hello World in C compiles to a 27k binary. Yeah yeah, optimize this, leave out that and you can get it smaller. Still doesn't change the fact that Hello World is not the target use-case for either C or Dart. Dar

Sure, jQuery is bad at scale. And by "scale" I'm not talking pageviews, I'm talking features, development team, etc... For that, modular libraries like YUI and Dojo are the answer. You can create some of the most advanced web applications
