This looks like a sequence diagram than has been extended from a 2d graph to 3d with the 3rd d being “time” that you step through with a button. You could render this interactive diagram as a static sequence diagram quite easily. And then s

I get what you are saying. But… if it didn’t need a browser, it still needs a runtime, and a computer, and electricity, and technology to print CPUs and and and A browser is just a drop in the bucket.

“Saving and Editing” is pretty big for a menu title. But it is more applicable than “File”. Most apps don’t deal with Files as the controlling metaphor. Word would do well so call it “Documents”

You shouldn’t be interacting like it is a human. It is a LLM. And if the interaction happens to be in a form of prose similar to how you talk to other humans, that is coincidental.

It is incredibly difficult to make an UX that can beat simply typing what you need in your own words. You think of what you need, and you type it. No need to even ask “what options should I use?”

That’s what they said when ASM was created. It’s what they said when C was created. Java. SQL. Powershell. Programming has always been about putting more power into the tools. Sadly, there doesn’t seem to be as much need for hardcore engine

I am certain if it can be “tricked” into using it with the LED off, there is certainly a feature being sold to “enterprises” where it happens on purpose.

Are we really this devolved as coders? We can’t handle different syntaxes? We need LLMs to write queries? What the heck is going on with our industry? Old man rant off.

I work in a medium sized company. “Everyone” uses Teams. The software engineers use slack. One one hand, it sucks having to monitor two services. On another hand, it is nice having “corporate bullshit” constrained to teams. The styles of co

Can you prove you are not merely mimicking consciousness? At some point mimicking a thing becomes the thing.

Some of your intended audience will not read further. Which is the point about trust. You’ve got something cool to show, and a reader is telling you an impediment to your sharing. Fix your description. 99% less YAML!

Wait… large customers move in and your rate goes up? Forget about it. These AI companies could really help themselves by subsidizing local rates. Imagine if a large AI datacenter moved in AND your rate dropped by $70! Everyone would be sing

I fear there is a strong sentiment that people are somehow special and magical and AI will always be a pale comparison. The truth is likely that people are simple heuristical machines. There are already studies that strongly suggest our con

It will be interesting to see if LLMs “evolve” importance as they run out of ram and storage to think. For humans with limited space, “Importance” is an output of a first pass “of the available infinite amount of information, what do I need

It doesn’t matter if this specific idea has flaws. The ASI will have lots more and plenty of patience to try them out. Maybe it lies about a vaccines effectiveness. Maybe it’s not really a vaccine. Maybe it cheats at an election and gets so

If the president has a remote way to launch nukes, that implies the existence of a broadcast signal that can be received. The signal can be emulated. Perhaps ASI helps a kid develop a science fair project dealing with radio waves. The ASI p

Back in the 2000s MS agreed to port Office and Internet Explorer to the Mac. This was a good move for both companies. Bill Gates appeared on screen during an Apple Conference to talk with Steve. Huge boos. Steve had to work the crowd back f

War is bad. And our reality isn’t some unchanging truth. Our actions and choices, or apathy, help shape our reality. It is not childish to aspire to be better.

The law doesn’t define behavior. It describes behaviors. Those behaviors can change by giving the doers more power. If a bureaucrat is trouble, and the doers can cause the bureaucrat to be fired, to doers will have more power.
