I take your argument as “covid will be around forever so we should act like it doesn’t exist” which is nonsensical to me. I’m not sure I can come up with a more charitable interpretation: sometimes things change and societies need to adapt.

It seems to me like there are more forums for free speech now than ever before. When in our history has it been easier for the average citizen to find a platform to host their views?

I switched from a MBP to a Razor Blade 14, with their 4k screen option. I forget what I paid but it was on par with a similarly specced MBP. The only real compromise that I've noticed is that the battery life isn't as good. But pa

I wonder how much the airship itself will cost at scale. Since their plan is to be autonomous, and energy costs will be low, it seems the economics of this depend on the cost of the airship and maintenance. Put differently, if they’re cheap

I agree in principle that if there's a safe bed available, setting up a tent in a park should be illegal. But reality is complicated and there are lots of edge cases. Theft and assaults happen at shelters, so maybe there's a bed a

I don’t fully understand it, but I believe the way to think about it is that: we never “see” something fall into a black hole. But the photons from the “last moment we see” get so redshifted they’re essentially invisible. Therefore from a r

Brick in Seattle is not great because we get earthquakes and brick tends to crumble. There are some brick buildings, and there are some things you can do to reinforce them in preparation for an earthquake. But in general, wood is better.

I don’t buy this argument. One of the reasons police are quicker to open fire on people here in the US is because so many people have guns. Countries with fewer guns have fewer armed police officers and fewer policemen shootings.
