I've noticed this as well. Running a home together with a partner, especially with children in the picture, is an organizational challenge not unlike any other. It involves a lot of listening, acting, planning, budgeting, and keeping

Ah, makes sense, you still need the ability to handle the rerouted traffic.

I use them at work and home (no choice). From a technical perspective, Comcast is usually rock-solid for me. Sure it's expensive, and an absolute joke that I have to call every year to keep the discounts and a TV plan that I don't

Most stuff has worked today. GitHub hasn't. IPv6 has been hit-or-miss as well.

If you can get the able-bodied out of their cars, then there's more room for those that really need a car. I only take my car when it's not practical to walk or ride my bicycle. And probably 80% of the time I'm in my car, I c

Clinging to my 11" MBA (2014) as well. 4-core, perfect size, indestructible. Totally agree that if they would make any modest improvements just to keep it current (proc, mem, wifi, etc.) I would refresh every year or two. I don't

This won't work with Cider btw. I had to change it to 1.9.0-SNAPSHOT in pom.xml before a mvn install. error in process filter: version-to-list: Invalid version syntax: '1.9.0-master-SNAPSHOT' error in process filter: I

I believe that's 220ms. Which isn't too bad. But Clojure can usually match that if you AOT everything. It's still too slow for serious command-line utils, though, so you're back to Haskell.

I would rather audio text message. I want something like Glide, but without video. Sometimes a txt doesn't do it, but I don't want to enter into the time-consuming ceremony of a phone call/voicemail.

This was the case for me historically as well, but I recently got an HD antenna to avoid paying the fee for digital and told them I didn't want the box. They somehow unbundled them and now I have a more expensive data plan for the sam

Most people label Riak a key/value store, as does the author, but I get a more useful mental picture thinking of it as a distributed file system. The same kinds of things that are fast on a file system are fast with Riak (direct access), a

Another data point. If you already have a regular Airport Extreme, you can plug a drive into the USB port, share it, and set it as your Time Machine target. I didn't see the need to spend the extra money for the Time Capsule.
