Sounds like they're just behaving like parents with young kids. I routinely stay up too late just to have some quiet, waking conscious alone time after a full day of work and time with the kids (which are now hopelessly intertwined).

You don’t have to look very far to see Sweden’s official plan was certainly not herd immunity though community infection. They took a more hands off “do the right thing” approach and I think it’s fair to say that did not fare as well as the

Scale is the truly terrifying variable here. We’ve always believed in ghost stories when we couldn’t explain the phenomenon. But now those ghost stories are displacing explanation and at massive speed and scale. So worrying.

This. This hard pull towards conspiracy theories is happening in contrast to a period of about 100 or so years of relative enlightenment supported by mainly centralized liberal institutions(not saying that doesn’t have a cost), but this pa

Semantics, but I view “support” as an active measure. There are loads of issues folks are just not engaged with enough to have a qualified opinion (their perspective not mine), which is fine. I view that as living in the status quo but not

Or being apolitical just means you don’t have time or inclination to obsess about the political origins and implications of every atomic micro-decision in your day because doing so is a tremendously tedious and unproductive burden that freq

It’s really unfortunate to see such an unchallenged application of the label “libertarian” here. Put aside your own feelings for a moment. Highlighting any connection between libertarianism with the alt-right, white supremacy, or anti-gover

You just described exactly how insurance actually works. I don’t really want to live in a world where the higher risk people are MORE disincentivized from being able to secure insurance by eliminating “subsidies” because of their behavior.
