The same can be said for static c++ binaries. Setting up a machine is as easy as scping the bin to the host and running it. docker isn't necessary, it's just nice for repeatable builds.

Any harrowing experience can cause PTSD. Usually time makes the feeling fade and understanding what specifically caused the stress during trying circumstances and avoiding or controlling those situations prevents them from occurring again.

They're only valid concerns if you're in the part of the chain that needs to be empathetic in the first place. That's the point I'm trying to make. His point of view is not representative of Torvald's, mine or pos

You sound like a middle manager to me. The people at the bottom or top don't worry about this crap and will call a spade a spade.

Anyone who thinks working at home is going to be the new normal is delusional. If I'm in the office the first people I'm going to talk to are the ones sitting across from me. After that we might move to the whiteboard and forget

As an American I'm standing in a glass house when I ask this question but how does an Australian end up voting for these politicians? How do they get elected? There have been a couple of baffling laws that have passed and I'm wo

No big issues here. It's never been easier to jump from a lower paying job to a higher paying job. Just grind for a month and you're set. The one issue that I can see are the low paying companies with simple work related problem

I'd be more inclined to use react native with a cross platform native language backing it than touch flutter and with it dart. Also, using google trends for this sort of thing with those terms is flawed at best and stupid at worst. Fl

If you're talking about monospace fonts well, eliminating layout variation eliminates noise. Spacing is predictable, so that gives you hints at a glance that your code is correct, line from line.

I use wrk to load test my endpoints and check caching behavior. If the server is still responding with 6000+ rps including round trips to the db and no 500 errors after an hour or so of blasting it then it's good enough. This is sing

A marathon is not just running. The prolonged length of time, distance and speed are heavy stressors. The hike that the author discusses is just a nature walk with poor footwear. I did St. Olav's way back in 2019. There is no sancti

I'm not so sure. If you get the word out people act. If you don't then legislation you don't want is more likely to go through. See the icann and .org issues last year.
