1.7kg of feed gets you 1kg of chicken[0]. for a crop that humans can't even eat. and then you eat the american broiler chicken for calories, only getting 10% of them. if you get 500 calories from eating some chicken, that took 5,000 ca

It took decades to prove conclusively that cigarettes cause cancer in humans. Similarly to tobacco companies Monsanto is subsidizing research that just happens to find no harms with RoundUp. I'm sure it's fine though, no big deal

Depression absolutely makes people irrational. It changes your risk calculus. Are we going to act like other disorders such as bipolar are rational and should be listened to whenever at face value?

Necessary but not sufficient for accuracy. Someone googling about molecular biology and posting it on Facebook isn't "contributing to the discourse". They're drowning out signal with noise.

Or we could just cut out the middleman of private insurance like most of the developed world? I don't want 100 competing brands of insulin — I want my NovoLog and I want it at cost.

What democracy exists in the US? You don't vote for your president. The preferences of the American public have a statistically insignificant effect on which legislative policies get passed. Popular suffrage has existed in the country

A single Bitcoin transaction uses more energy than an Argentine family goes through in a year. As bad as the IMF is the cure you're proposing is worse than the sickness. Have open banking standards. Implement proper consumer finance re

If most of the internet is on the AWS that is a pretty understandable argument, no? Mt. Gox was responsible for 70% of Bitcoin transactions at its peak. Most buy coins through exchanges, via fiat as an intermediary. They upload a driver

I think if your coin uses more energy to settle one transaction than a typical South American uses in a year it's the "shitcoin" Crypto being filled with scams is a feature, not a bug.

Really disingenuous to compare the US to China in this way as if they are comparable failures. We're talking about under a million cases and 5,000 deaths. In the US we had 91 million cases and over a million deaths. Especially embarras
