I became an unwilling victim of such feature in my Razer gaming keyboard. One day a friends child was visiting and I put some games on for her. The little bastard somehow reprogrammed the 'r' key to empty macro, it took me weeks t

Do not forget the Toilet Principle, which applies to majority of software UI: Your user wants to be done with your thing ASAP, get what their came for and leave. Any visual style is a bonus, if it doesnt get in the way. I guess it applies t

When do you think that happened? For me it was around 2012. Thats when I exited crypto and never looked back. I actually built an app before that which would easily transfer money between countries, by finding matching local trades. Unfortu

The article I read it in (in independent Polish press, cannot find it now) said physical exertion makes you more susceptible to radiation, and cited figures around the weight of shells which are apparently quite heavy.

None of these articles seem to mention WHY the tanks are designed this way (although I admit I just searched for keywords). As far as I know, it is because the current gen of Russian tanks were designed for how they envisioned WW3 40 years

I've got an external HDD with battery and its own small WiFi, it makes its contents available through DLNA. It works great, I usually connect through VLC or a gaming console.

I was effectively in isolation for months due to some health issues (pre covid). I knew I was depressed as well and decided to take some LSD. I've taken it a few times before, never had a bad time. This time, I had. I repeated this a f

Wasnt Canada viewed as potential enemy for a long time after Independence War? Both Canada and US had plans for invading each other IIRC, with the Canadian forces hoping they would hold on long enough for UK to arrive and help. Though at th

IMHO when a game centres around competitive play, and said game also allows you to buy competitive advantage for real money, that is a problem. A situation like this is called "pay to win" and is tempting enough for some game comp

This is partially true but Putin and Xi dont happen in a vacuum. Stalin or Hitler didnt happen in a vacuum. The sanctions put on Russia are also meant to affect civilians, as they are partially responsible for the war. And the west will pay

The US is a country with the strongest Imperial streak in the west, that is true, but youre still comparing apples to oranges. The Russian brand of imperialism is something from colonialist times, and involves eradicating entire populations

Draft only makes sense if your country is actually being invaded. Otherwise it is a massive waste of resources to force people into service they do not wish to perform, nobody gets anything useful out of that.

Ironically, most of Russian money is in London. And whenever a high profile person from Russia needs to leave the country, whether a friend or enemy of Putin, he tends to surface living in UK. An interesting coincidence.
