Heres an idea: remove karma total - its just an epenis and nothing else. Keep points for posts so you can see if your post was good and for burying trolls but dont show the total in profile or news page. Done.

Amsterdam has its own problems namely hordes of drunk and high people from UK and US being loud and obnoxious. As a person who drives through the Netherlands sometimes, if you just want to chill out and smoke a nice joint in the park I reco

This. FFS your body is not a car and you can't (well, not yet) replace parts of it if you fuck it up. You can't stop people from trying but I don't think most of them fully realise the danger they're putting themselves i

I for one hate working with CSS and would rather concentrate on writing Javascript and the backend code. The point of bootstrap and similar is to give your web app a UI on a good-enough level for most apps. Also yes you can use only bits of

I never said anyone was sued for having their crops cross-pollinate. However, let me pose these three points about Monsanto to you: 1. They are known to be aggressive in courts. 2. They are simply promising not to sue for cross-pollination.

(disclaimer: im a farmer) GM food isnt toxic but GM food company lawyers are. the article mentions being sued as a result of cross-pollination in the intro and never speaks of it again, but thats the real GM crop threat.

Let me rephrase then; storing state in DOM may be ok for small pages with some insignificant JS on top to provide progressive enhancement, but from web app point of view its totally unfeasible and saving a few KB is IMHO not worth it.

Why store state in DOM? Isn't that bad practice? I remember reading DOM access is the slowest part of JS [needs verification]. So you want to trade performance for few dozen kilobytes of assets that can be cached?

Thats what I was thinking too. I would like to simply see Ruby/Python compile into JS instead. It has been done actually (not sure about Ruby) - don't know how well it performs though.

JS blocking does not mean "BAN ALL JAVASCRIPT GRRRR" it means "I will decide which sites can run code on my computer". So if you have a web app - a page that needs to run code to provide its value - you have to let it do
