Looks to me like the distribution for the more expensive schools on the Y axis is nearly identical to that of the inexpensive state schools. So no, paying a lot for college is not worth it, when you could get the same result for $50k at a

The "lean in" thing bothers me because the whole point seems to be to gain acceptance and approval from people with "power." I respect people a lot more who have an intrinsic internal motivation to do something great, an

It would be interesting if politicians had to argue for the drug war using the actual effects as the reasons. "Proposition 843 will raise the price of cocaine and heroine and make possession illegal so as to create a massive demand for

My wife and I spend quite a bit of time watching 22 or 50 minute TV shows in succession on Netflix. I think that format is in many ways more interesting, as you can develop a story in much more depth than you could with a 2 hour movie.

I think the fact that this is done on a large scale makes people more complacent. "Oh, they're monitoring the whole Internet for terrorists? OK!" But if you told anyone, "The Feds have decided to monitor you and 1000 ot

You'll be able to trivially circumvent this, and the first people to figure that out will be teenage boys. And then what? Well hey, we can try to block the encryption and tunneling protocols they use and make those opt-in too. Inevita

Yeah, I see that. The reason I think what I did became so easy is that I took the component model to the absolute extreme. There were no objects at all, just a table of state data and a collection of functions you could add to an "en

Conceptually, I think it is harder and kind of a pain to code for at first. But one of the advantages I've found using it is the ability to completely decouple the state of game objects from the code that manipulates them. This gives

The lack of accountability here disgusts me. Therefore, I propose a rule: Discharge a firearm while serving as a cop, no matter the reason, and that's it, you're no longer a cop. Take your toys and go home, thank you for your ser
