Taking 48 hours off work is not “disappearing”, that’s a weekend. Perhaps the point is more how volatile the patronage is.

I can’t see a lot of harm in this. Writers talk shit across genre boundaries (in this case, maybe in an attempt to define one!) all the time. The “arguments” they present are almost always terrible.

That is an entirely different functionality from what I am suggesting. The select would select based on some other internal state to the cpu than a register.

I wonder if one could generate multiple implementations of a code block and select at runtime which is the best one given the current state of the CPU. Obviously this would require some architecture changes to have a multi-address-select ju

It doesn't apply to native apps.... IIRC they've even removed ad-blocking vpn software recently: https://forums.appleinsider.com/discussion/200903/apple-no-l...

It seems wrong that faith-funded organizations are allowed to discriminate based on religious belief. This also seems like a different scenario than, say, paying for birth control.

Well, it’s a little less weird for chrome to have “legit” access to the browsing data. Why would AV software ever need that information?

Is there a decent UX for apparmor controls?

The type and destination of the network request would be useful to block/allow as necessary, ala little snitch. However, IMHO AV software should be reviewed as such. They clearly didn’t do this. What is the point of the app store? It s

Why are these even allowed on the store? Surely the sandbox prevents process inspection.

Sadly, I don’t see Apple making any moves in this direction, probably because advertising is an extremely popular form of revenue these days. It’d be rather awkward explaining why they enable these controls on the computer but they don’t al

People aren’t the ones claiming the plan is unlimited, whatever that means. Are the ISPs confused?

I’ve noted that the most fulfilling jobs tend to pay the least. Are all minimum wage jobs satisfying? No. But I’d bet the average social worker is more dedicated than the average engineer. Furthermore, after having talked to several employe

Sure, but humans have immense ability to rationalize their own behavior. I highly doubt this is a pressure comparable to profit seeking. Furthermore, SV is a bubble, and FB is one too. Why would you think there would be pressure from outsid

How do you verify the authority owns the content? For instance: AMP urls serve content from a different authority than the one that produces the content.

It’s not that technical, though, to people urls are just strings. Why would people care if they can see the www or not? If anything, this is likely to introduce more confusion.
