Amusingly, Mr. Loudmax, you are being far more rude, and therefore deserving of a downvote, than I ever was. I believe the word "permitted" with regard to social sanction (HN votes) has a greater range of meaning than you are permitting her

There also seems to be an over-corrective quality. As I am now on 20 points, but people can't see that (until this comment) and therefore I think some people presume I am only just back from negative and give me an upvote to pad the figures

My first HDD was 40 meg (in a ~$6000 inflation adjusted computer). For the same price it's eminently feasible to get a system (computer + a NAS or three) with 40 TB. If my calculations aren't wrong that's enough for over ~77.6 years (24/7)

I am not sure you are allowed to question climate science like that. But it does make me wonder about large tree planting projects as an approach to climate change. Although I've heard there are problems with water tables in China where the

I imagine of the ~7 billion people alive today, perhaps 6 billion are not potential Apple customers at all due to price. Quite a few billion are potential low-end Android phone users though. As I said in another comment in this thread it co

10,000 homes sounds like a lot but it's tiny compared to the US population, only enough to make a press release make the news really. And very tiny next to the world population now approaching the 7,000,000,000 mark. The simple fact is that

Scribd would be acceptable if the download link actually worked without a login. As it is I am highly tempted to flag links using the service. Even blogspam usually gives you a link to the original.

Touchscreens were popular before Apple in business applications. That might not be hipster enough, but Apple certainly didn't invent or popularize them. Further, at this form factor, you have that Microsoft table as well as a great many all

It is indeed blogspam, the cult article we have here breathlessly implies that only Apple products will get this technology. I've become extremely hostile to the Apple bubble recently as it's gone from massive historical revisionism about c
