How will the mandatory implementation of this affect apps that rely on a third party as the data storage system? For example https://moo.do stores everything in Google Drive, if they have to implement Sign in with Apple the app

And that's why I buy Google phones. The processor being slightly slower doesn't matter to me if I prefer the overall experience

From my understanding YNAB at least is already using Plaid - every service I've used that uses Plaid still needs username/password for the financial institution.

I get that prompting for an iCloud password again adds an extra step, but if someone has your unlocked phone they probably have enough (email, SMS, phone) to take over your iCloud account anyway.

I think a lot of major changes are in Google's apps, not Android itself. For example a big update to the Photos app would be part of a major OS update in iOS but just another regular app update on Android.

Yes, it runs on the JVM and is 100% compatible with Java code. While it was fairly easy to use Kotlin with Android before, Google just announced first-class support for it at IO.

I would assume bootloader unlocked, I believe that causes SafetyNet to fail and can't imagine why a carrier unlocked phone would.

I think a lot of people (myself included) use password managers to manage very long and random passwords. Typing in 100 random characters every time I need to login to something (especially on a phone) would be pretty annoying.
