When I started developing back pain from our office chairs a few years ago (proper ergonomic ones), a colleague let me try a kneeling chair that work had gotten for him but which didn't really work for him. It has been perfect for me a

I am trying to finish the first draft of my next fiction book so that I can finally move on to the editing phase. I'm so close, but the last few chapters are always the hardest for me, so I'm just forcing myself through it to get

I'd never drink on the job, but I also don't actually drink alcohol in general. I haven't drank regularly since my clubbing days ~15 years ago and not at all for the last 10-ish years. Well, that isn't _technically_ true

For me, the Blues just feel perfectly snappy and quick. I really like the Red switches as well and if I was using a keyboard in an office environment, I'd probably go for Reds as the Blues have an audible click. But in the privacy of m

I agree. I've been blogging since the early 2000s and my blog is basically just a (sometimes retroactively embarrassing) brain dump for myself. Earlier on I cared more about comments and stats and such, but nowadays I just write into t

I've never thought about this despite both of my cats being chipped, to be honest. They came chipped from the breeders (all cat shelters have them chipped when leaving as well), and vets just scan the chip when they first see them. Unt

Just chiming in to agree. I started working in embedded QA in 2008 and have made a couple of hops in those first years into more and more programming-heavy roles. Time-wise, I think the amount of time it took me to get into a full time prog

I didn't like it, even though I think I was pretty good at it; I gave it an honest try for a few months and then asked my TD to move me back to the IC track. It wasn't even a "manager" role - it was a tech lead role on a

I go through phases where I try to listen to either instrumental music, or something with vocals, or even brain.fm. Every time I always think it's going well, but then I just slowly phase out of bothering to turn the music on. Seems li

How old are you and which country are you currently in? There are a few ways to do it; I made the move in 2012 on a Working Holiday Visa. You had to be under a certain age and be a citizen of a country that has this visa scheme agreement wi

I ended up with a page on IMDB for participating in an episode of a tiny web streaming tech show years ago, and apparently you can't just get them removed. It isn't a high bar of fame/publicity to get stuck in there, unfortun

Of course it would alleviate discomfort - it would allow the author to retain full control of their image. They could, with a couple of taps, delete the image and prevent its propagation on a fetish website.

We have everything from published papers to anecdotal accounts/lived experiences about people who chose not to have children. Completely denying that such people exist seems borderline delusional. https://journals.sagepub.co
