I totally agree. I'm a front-end dev that can wing backend from time to time, and I use SQLite as much as possible. On multiple projects now I've run into complications due to complexity or environments, and adding a simplified l

Ahh, the good ol days. I lost count of how many Xaml-based UI Frameworks got released. In 2011 I started learning web development for UI, almost immediately after Microsoft announced Windows 8 and WinRT at build. This graphic [0] was the

browsersync is nice but it's just a different approach (proxying for multiple clients/tabs) with its own tradeoffs. Polypane is one browser tab (1 debugger, 1 css editor, etc) with multiple viewports, so there's no extra hass

When building webapps I like to keep a list of nit picks for ux and usability issues (usually things I find myself that aren't directly related to feature stories) and I fight to schedule as many passes as possible for fixing them. It

One of my favorite browser extensions, Simplify [0], started its life as a userscript/userstyle. I've used Greasemonkey scripts to fix stupid (and in one case, broken) things on mandatory intranet sites. They're invaluable.
