Even before this announcement, it is beyond me how anyone can argue that this is not the best smartphone on the market. It has an incredibly fast processor, fantastic camera, one of the most popular music hubs (iTunes), the largest app sto

There was something particularly touching about this. I think it was the words "Thank You", where you felt it wasn't coming from "The Colbert Report" Colbert, but the actual Stephen Colbert himself.

Although exclusivity is hard to believe, the only thing that makes this plausible is that it makes sense for Apple to want multiple carriers for their products, each with lesser influence, than one or two major carriers with major influence

Not sure how being a blogger qualifies one to become a VC, but I'm guessing this is to keep him "in the techcrunch mix". TC doesn't risk losing a solid contributor, and MG gets to potentially make a good amount of cash.

I haven't used it, but I suppose it's an interesting concept. What starts out as broadcasting random nonsense could evolve in to individuals broadcasting a produced show on fb. Sort of how podcasting evolved - with a social twist.

When you start your company, you think of it as an innovative product, not a probability. If you start thinking of it in terms of probabilities from the very beginning, you are not going to succeed.

The title of the article suggests that it was a mistake to leave NYC for Palo Alto, but there is nothing in the article which suggests Palo Alto was the problem. You may as well have titled this article "I got screwed by a guy named Ted". I

Bankers were secondary to the tech scene? Maybe for a couple of years in the dot com era, but otherwise I'm not sure which NYC you are referring to. We are not just talking >200K, we are talking 8-9 million people, a mix of bankers, med

"distractions of city life" is no understatement. What makes NYC quite a fun place to visit or live in also detracts from it becoming a serious contender to the Valley. It's a city of bankers who have, or traditionally have had, tons of mon

Spotify can do whatever it wants. It may seem a bit extreme to require a facebook account to use the service, but honestly - competing with a behemoth like Apple and iTunes, with it's inevitable rollout of a similar service at some point th

What kind of nonsense is this? It's the board of directors that needs to be dismantled and reorganized. I'm indifferent to HP as a company so it doesn't matter to me what their corporate strategy is. However, if you bring in a new CEO to

Personally, I feel product announcements should be made by the head of the team that developed the product in the company. That's what Google does, for example. It gives some well deserved spotlight to that person for their hard work. It al

I'm not sure what it means to be a large economy anymore. If you roam around any of the cities in India, you see nothing but a third world nation, with rampant poverty and horrific infrastructure. And of course in the villages, it's even wo

I don't have any personal vindication towards any of these journalists, but I don't understand why it's a big deal that the editor of TechCrunch resides in New York. Didn't Arrington himself move to Seattle before the sale?
