Printing money and creating inflation has never historically been found to be a good idea. Germany are not forcing anything on these PIIGS countries, but if they want money they need to make some changes that will get their economies back i

"As a developer the comments are talking to me" -- As a developer the code is talking to me. It's a trivial question, comments are a chore that developers do because they provide someone who is later looking at and/or modifying their code

It may be disgusting to you, and you may not understand what I meant, but I'm afraid, my friend, that doesn't change the fact that there are correlations between the choices you make and your socioeconomic profile. It's the whole basis of c

I suspect there's a strong correlation between the email account host and the place on the early adopter curve. There's nothing wrong about wanting to live near other early adopters.

while I am glad you have found someone, I would bet that it had very little to do with okcupid, but rather your emotional availability and confidence. If you could have been cloned and A/B tested, I bet B would have met someone just the sam

Absolutely, nothing in this experiment is news to anyone that knows about dating dynamics. The experiment fails to account for the reason why people are on the site in the first place, it assumes the reasons are gender-agnostic, which is no

These sound like the sort of thing an HR person would ask, not a developer. Commenting style. Seriously? What in all honesty do you expect someone to say, you must know you're going to get spoon fed a perfect answer just for asking such a d

I hope the screenshot is fake data and not violating anyone's HIPPA rights, otherwise this designer is going to be in a lot of very hot water over this.

It's really hard to use on the iPad, it doesn't behave how one might expect, click it makes the window zoom, clicking a second time slides the toggle. Sliding the toggle does nothing.

Rather than use this do the call to action, a better usage for me would be a 'help mode', user clicks help and a wucik walk through of functionality is presented using these arrows to draw attention to some area of the screen.

What's so bad about replacing the phone every couple years? I'd rather these phone manufacturers moved things forward than worry too much about what the non early adopter crowd think. You don't have to update to ios6, nothing's forcing you

I've heard this argument many times before, it was the same with Oodle, but PadMapper's business model is to aggregate apartment listings (Google's is not) and this is in contradiction to the TOS so inevitably Craig Newmark sends them a C&#

People listing apartments tend to want it to be widely "known." those same people are already getting their listing widely known, by posting it on CL.

The difference is that the search engines aggregate from the whole web, PadMapper was just appropriating content from CL, which is against their TOS. It's very clearly spelled out. All the other companies that have tried have also been told

Regexs are not hacks. They are part of a programmers toolchest. Just because you write them when you cannot think of a better solution doesn't make them a hack. They are a legitimate solution for efficient text matching problems.
