Lots of down-votes, but no replies. I can't figure out if the down votes are proving that I'm right or if I totally missed something.

Yes, people certainly ARE buying apps on Android.

Has the idea been "validated" just because it made the first page of Hacker News? Anyway, I write apps for Android, and I actually entered a really crowded space because I thought I could do better, and now I have the #1 app in my genre. It

A year ago I would have laughed at the final statement that people will dump their iPhones faster than Apple is ready for. Today, after working with Android for a year, I could care less if I had an Android instead of my iPhone. In fact, I

If my phone could be the size of my watch, and I could wear it on my wrist, and it had all my email and a modern browser, I'd probably switch to it completely. I am SICK of having my AWESOME smart phone on my belt or in my pocket. It feels

I don't get it. Was he making fun of both or just PHP? Some of the things I "think" he was ripping on PHP for are some of my favorite things. I don't program in Ruby and the part where he said the code didn't make sense - well, it didn't.

The same thing happens in the Android Market. Apps get removed for policies that have always been there, and then they complain that they exist AFTER they develop the app. READ THE TOS PEOPLE.

I noticed nearly the exact same thing, but from the Android Market perspective. I too have a top 5 app in my category. I too don't see any change in rank on a day to day basis. I too have a top 50 paid and free app. I too have seen no signi

I make far fewer purchases on my Android devices over my iPhone as well. It's just that the AppStore continually updates their Featured pages, and I'm constantly buying from there. On Android, the same scrolling apps at the top have been

First, I sell apps in the Android Market and do well. Lots of people pay. Second, having a web interface just makes it easier for people to search and find apps with ease from their computer. It will REALLY help me because I can now easily

I also like my Tab for the same reasons. It actually fits in the pocket of my jeans in a pinch. It's kind-of like putting a book in my pocket, but at least my hands are free. The battery life on mine is ridiculously GOOD. I charge it mayb

This is great, but the phone market can't seem to keep up with these new versions. I was just at a wireless store last night and their one in-store device would only run 1.6. Their sold out device was only 2.1 The next device was still 2.1,

I think 2 things need to be fixed in order to sell more apps: 1) Fix the payment declined orders problem. There are a TON of these going on. 2) Add PayPal. I know some of you hate it but I get requests constantly from people asking if the

I agree with you regarding the green thing in the Android Market. However, if those apps changed daily (particularly in the Games section) I think it would work out better for everyone.

I sell A LOT of units (games) in the Android Market. The 15 minute window has literally been a Godsend and has had no negative affect on sales at all. I get far fewer people refunding minutes before the "refund window" is over AND I only re

Interesting. I never thought of it as "liberated office", I thought of it as "without charge office / free office" and I despise the name LibreOffice. Hey. Why don't they call it LibertyOffice? That would be awesome.

That's what I thought too. Apparently, the negative connotation is in the British use of the word "pocket" to mean "steal".

This was brilliant. If Kongregate had just blogged "Hey, look at our new Android app", they would have gotten a little press and a few downloads. Release in the Market and GET KICKED OUT OF THE MARKET ... BOOM - tons of great press and now

What are you referring to? I don't see how the word pocket has any "negative" connotations. It's a little confusing in how it relates to note-taking, but that isn't really negative to me.
