Oh, there's so much to unpack here... Vast majority of my blogposts that have reached HN front page were ... inflamatory and controversial. The (IMO) wise content that isn't steering up the argument seems rather ignored. ... or it

I've been recently working on something similar (but much more primitive) https://github.com/dpc/tagwiki if anyone is interested. It's an async/await Rust project too, which might be interesting to some.

I think this is a ... bad take? Ambiguous and confusing(ed)? I mean - I guess there are people who believe in some stereotype of "real programmers", but this post kind of buys into this stereotype by arguing with it, and then does

You can expect whatever you want. That's what the salary negotiations are for. But I'm sure there would be plenty of people to out compete you. Just because company is saving money doesn't mean you get to pocket the differenc

I don't understand the references in that song, but doesn't seem like anything unexpected from the artist. Almost all his songs are a criticism of all political parties and governments and the social pathology. It's weird tha

I don't buy almost any of it. The thing is - it's very hard to compare performance between projects and teams. What author considers "high-performance" might mean "environment I felt productive in" and so o

Just to add to that: Integer overflows in release builds can be turned on, and even when they are off, at very least they are not UBs. More info in http://huonw.github.io/blog/2016/04/myths-and-legends-about-.

A lot of devs gets overly exited by tactical advantages like saving couple of lines when implementing something, but it doesn't really matter, and the proof I'd give is the success of Go (which I don't even like myself). It&#
