It is really surprising that the same frameworks are much slower running pypy than cpython. I'm assuming all the result are run from cold... Considering that webserver rund for long period of time, it'd be interesting to measure a

It looks like the bottleneck here is the database driver (or possibly ORM when used). The plaintext test shows a very different picture: https://www.techempower.com/benchmarks/#section=#section=dat... PS: As a side n

I wish somebody worked on using that unwanted heat, like they do in swimming pool / ice rink combos, rather than finding ways to just disperse it faster in the environment.

I'm 100% sure that this is not their intention... But can you guarantee that this is not going to happen in the future? All it takes is one rogue employee, and it could have devastating irreversible effects on a small startup. https:&

Yes. Financial stability and conflict of interest are two orthogonal issues. The worst case scenario with Github closing the door, assuming no heads up, is that you'd lose your issues and PR. You have your git history on a bunch of mac

Whichever process you use is fine, but I wanted to highlight that there is more to heroku than just deploying your apps.

With a single VPS, you're missing the DB backup that is probably the most important piece if the puzzle provided by heroku.

When you have competing priorities and finite time and budget, people often don't investigate external requirements, assuming that they'll just comply when they no longer have a choice. That's why the first few audits (SOX, P

I don't understand, isn't that how trains work everywhere? Otherwise how are the people in the next city supposed to know when they need to be there to board that train?

If you need to do something more complicated where SQL would be really handy, and like here you're not going to update your data, give monetDB a try. Quite often when I'm about to break down and implore the hadoop gods, I remember

csv files are extremely easy to import in postgres, and 10 M rows (assuming not very large) isn't much to compute even in a 6 or 7 year old laptop. Keep it in mind if you've got something slightly more complicated to analyse.

The body switches to burning fat based on insulin levels. A very bad diet can make you insulin resistant and eventually have diabetes type 2, but it is reversible. The difference between a normal person and somebody with insulin resistance
