Which to be clear, is a viable economic market. It's just that the uptake is painfully slow.

They'll still take meetings - it's free information so they'll never turn that down. Even if they're a solid 'no' from the outset. VCs aren't always transparent with their reasoning. Some of them said they

A very high proportion of them, but really, every founder is struggling right now.

Not many that are venture backed though. Jasper and few others will suffer here.

Web3/crypto is especially hard right now, because the market shrank overnight. A lot of 'solutions in search of a problem' going on in that world.

Sad to say my startup is part of this grim statistic. We raised capital in October of 2021 and were unable to raise follow on capital. I laid off all staff and we shut down two months ago. Founders today are conserving cash. Gone are the da

I grew up in one of these households. My grandmother didn’t speak English so my dad mandated Hindi be spoken in the household. I think it was a net positive in my life. I pick up phrases and sounds from new languages pretty easily. I didn’t

I think I'll wait for another cycle or two before moving to Wayland. Seems like there's a long tail of small issues that need polishing. The zoom screenshare one scared me off a long time ago.

Used it for the past two years. Was a wonderful experience - everything I wanted out of a coworking space. I'll probably split my time between indie coworking spots and "unofficial" coworking spots (in SF, Celo space).

My favorite of all time. He also released a book, Heat 2, if you want more. I am 30 pages in and it’s good so far.

I noticed this too, reminded me a little bit of Bill Maher's "angry old guy" transformation. I think JS legitimately is more arrogant and self righteous. I think part of it is the DGAF everyone goes through as they get older,

You raise money to hire talent, market your product, and secure optionality in case iteration #1 doesn’t work out. The more money you have, the better you can do each of those individual things. “Just a SaaS” is reductive.

Great point. No intermediary to filter which means this content gets mass dumped on TG, reddit, etc.

There's another big factor at play: it's become increasingly easier to film yourself in combat and now encouraged by leadership for propaganda reasons. I've been going to r/combatfootage everyday for the past ~3 years; i

If you're a founder or just someone who wants to be inspired, read his book 'Total Recall'. It's a fantastic story of his life and I came away really motivated reading it.

Interesting that Plex is taking on the risk here, rather than the service provider that hosts the content (or more accurately, the user who hosts content on said service provider). I suspect they'd prefer to pass the hot potato to Hetz

I'm the co-founder of a fantasy sports game, so I've come to know the real money side of gaming somewhat intimately. As much as people scoff at the money component in a game...it leads to hyper engaged users. Our folks are incredi

When I was a kid in the mid 90s, I distinctly remember one of my friend’s parents not letting their kid drink soda. I remember thinking how uncool that was. Turns out those parents were ahead of the curve.
