Do you mind me asking what it costs to run a main net validator? Also how do you know the number of validators is correct? In other words can’t that be Sybiled?

Doesn’t that seriously centralize the network overtime?

I think you’re referring to the monetary policy? How could monetary policy that no one is supposed to control not be conservative in the literal sense?

If I recall a bitcoin core dev back in the day made a website where you could just change a few variables: name, block time, block size, block reward, etc. And it would spit out your customized fork of bitcoin core. This is basically how ea

For the most part your are correct. I think one distinction should be made. Economically active nodes are what matters not just any old node that someone has sitting in a closet.

So a small shop that can only pay 1 fresh bootcamp dev who is trying their hardest doesn’t get your business because they can’t keep up with several hundred Frontend google devs. Seems a little silly and absolutist.

It’s an ongoing problem for sure, but the simple answer is users maintaining multiple well connected channels. It’s very common on lightning to pay liquidity providers to balance your channels to you. Lightning Labs has a service called loo

Segwit itself provided an effective 2x increase in onchain transaction capacity and it fixed transaction malleability which was necessary for lightning network. Lightning network has 50,000+ open channels where payments can be routed witho

You can do far more than 3 tx per second in mainchain. Look into channel factories. 100s of trustless lightning network channels in 1 onchain transaction. Layer approach is the only viable scaling solution.

El Salvador is using the lightning network to facilitate transactions for the most part. They are using the work of Strike & bitcoin beach in El Salvador as an example.

You can build reversibility on top of non-reversible platforms. Not the other way around. Look into bitcoin “vaults” for some interesting research in this area.

Runek seems more likely to be asking, why pay the very high price of putting a trusted instrument on a trustless blockchain. Which I believe is a fair question.

You can build a system of reversible transactions on bitcoin or any other currency (people already have). It’s impossible to do the inverse in a non reversible system.

We have no idea how many transactions are “in a block”. There are multiple decentralized layers aggregating thousands of transactions down into a single bitcoin block transaction. This doesn’t even begin to touch the sheer magnitude of tran

I think the layer approach seems to make the most sense. Much like our current system now. The difference comes from building from a strong sound money base.
