I agree with your main point, but not the last sentence. The complexity and expense of state of the art military technology is beyond the means of smaller nation-states, let alone rebel groups, and that trend has been accelerating since WWI

Exactly, sounds like he was a bright guy and a free-thinker with interesting hobbies. Somehow this gets twisted into nonsense about a Satanic NASA, moon hoaxes, and secret space fleets. Paranoia in action.

That system is open to adjustment through legislation, which means corporations and their lawyers will bribe politicians to benefit themselves and rapaciously loot the commons, just as they have in almost every other facet of society.

Only in the traditional publishing world. Readers, especially genre readers on Kindle, do not care about the publisher, agent, or the industry trappings, they only want good stories. The situation is analagous to iphone or steam indie games
