No; it was run by a guy called Martyn Sherwood. I found a page about it online[0], which I see includes a reference to my ‘company’, Micro Spec Software! [0] https://rk.nvg.ntnu.no/sinclair/jmg7/groups/prismpd

Loved my ZX Spectrums (+2A/B then +3). Used them to make games and other software, which I sold via mail order and then through a public domain library called Prism PD. I also made a monthly wrestling fanzine on it; and it was my intro

I’ve found Boxy SVG ( https://boxy-svg.com ) to be a good visual SVG editor. You can edit the SVG markup or use the visual tools. The markup is preserved on save.

I much prefer Kagi to Google (and DuckDuckGo et al). Often the first page of Google consists solely of SEO rubbish. Being able to block and rank domains is also useful.

Wrestling Observer Newsletter[0]. Covers the pro wrestling (and MMA) business. Been going since the 1980s. The writer and publisher Dave Meltzer was featured in the New York Times a while back[1]. [0] https://en.wikipedia.org

That is infuriating. On my work Mac I’m only signed into the App Store (not iCloud) and have not had this problem. Maybe it’s the corporate malware your company installs that’s doing it?

Not in the UK. Only those earning self-employed income over a certain threshold (£1,000, I think) need to complete a return.

Great work. Will bookmark. I built something similarly no-nonsense and text-based for pro wrestling news: https://www.wrestle.buzz .

Made an HTML5/JS puzzle game: https://www.tripodsgame.com . No expectation of it making any money. (That said I do daydream of the NYT buying it lol.)

I sit with a hot water bottle all day at my desk during the winter months. Really works well and is cheaper than running the heating all the time.

Looks like it’s using Tone.js[0] with a sample library called ‘Salamander Grand Piano V3’[1]. Tone.js is great. I’m using it to convert MIDI files and sync visuals on a jazz piano tutorial website I’m building[2]. [0] https://ton

Is BuzzFeed actually clickbait, though? If you mean that the headline makes you want to click to read the article, then I guess it is. But that’s no different to any website. Looking at the home page just now, BuzzFeed doesn’t seem to make

Is your phone muted? I assume this is using the Web Audio API, which doesn’t sound on iOS if the iDevice is muted (requires a hack of playing silent HTML5 Audio in the background).

I bought a few cool domains over the past couple of years for side projects: wrestle.buzz, scots.app, jazzkeys.fyi and jamieonkeys.dev. My favourite (joke) domain is Marco Arment’s bad.coffee :D

As a Scots speaker I would object vehemently to my language being classified as a dialect of ‘British’, or any other language for that matter.

Scottish English != Scots. The former is just English with a Scottish accent; the latter is a closely related (to English) but distinct language with its own vocabulary and grammar, not dissimilar to the relationship between Norwegian and D
