You would get your password from the mobile app and type it in manually. For a suitably long and random password that takes effort but it should probably happen so rarely that it won't be a common annoyance.

Apparently one source of low-background steel are ships built before 1945, especially military ships as they are large and can be in use for decades. The US navy has scraped a few old ships for this use and there are theories that some WW2

“Addressing this condition will reduce pilot workload” is a funny way of saying they're going to stop planes crashing themselves! We're all quite used to having problems described in the least threatening way but I'm thankful

People are forgetful & passive, so they tend to subscribe and forget. There are lots of people paying for things they don't need or could save money by switching subscriptions on & off as needed. This is one of the reasons why

The size of population and complexity of the system is only one small factor. You still have to organise about the same level of transport system regardelss of where the money comes from. Ridership doesn't increase massively with these

Facebook seems to be dressing this up as “we care about your data” but what the suit really seems to say is that Facebook were fine with the data use up to the point where Rankwave started using it for advertising & insight services and

"PayPal has said that anyone who disagrees with any of their new terms is free to close their account." That's not much of a surprise as Paypal has never been strong on customer service for sellers. They seem to see the relat

Something to consider is that often I'll test drive a product with a few people on the cheapest possible plan, or free trial, for a month or two before rolling it out. Being able to do that really quickly, without setting up hosting, i

I hadn't thought to look at GitHub's ToS as that would have been too obvious! I did just have a quick look now. Nothing too specific in there, but then these things often are general so that discretion can be used later. A couple

So this is a comments app that uses Github's issue tracker service as a data store. Is this a round hole / square peg mismatch of problem and solution? I'm asking honestly what other people's opinions of this are because

Having been involved in a very similar project I think the mistakes would be on both sides. "hired the vendor based on a cool demo & vendor size" It is common that companies don't chose the right people to assess vendors

That's how a lot of these consultancies scale. The up or out policy means they need to hire a lot of young consultants to build out the ranks. Training and aligning that number of people is hard so they go for a cookie-cutter approach.

They really need an international treaty to stop these valueless demonstrations of power. Sure it shows you've got capabilities for shooting down really low satelites, but it also shows you don't have consideration for the effect

FYI: The majority of insulin these days is human insulin produced by GM bacteria or yeasts. Just because there's more than one obvious problem doesn't mean that you can ignore the others. More to the point, this isn't just ab

Yeah, could be, but there are a LOT of similar articles out there that have been able to “cherry pick” to show the same problem. After a while cherry picking becomes the harvest.

I believe Humalog is insulin produced by bacteria. There is a scaling issue but my point stands, that demand & its growth are stable and predictable. These are companies with at least 5 & 10 year plans, so they’re able to match pro

In this instance the companies aren’t competing, they’re price aligning. As the article points out, a competitor launched their product at exactly the same price. That’s not competition, it’s price fixing. The article is about how companies

But there isn’t a limited supply of insulin or a sudden spike in demand that would drive a normal market price rise. If anything the larger market, which is stable over time, with a product that is known and doesn’t require a lot of develop

Useful, yes, but not really important. I drive a FWD (fake)SUV crossover 4 months of the year in snow in the more rural suburbs of Oslo and find myself thinking I want AWD only once or twice a winter. As somebody else said, the roughest dri
