Smyths toys is doing pretty well in my town, in an out of town centre retail park admittedly. It is situated in a fairly new retail park that got built exactly behind the old one where Toys R Us used to be. That got knocked down and replace

It does! Ollama provides a helper to launch it with the local model too: https://docs.ollama.com/integrations/pi So you can do: ollama launch pi --model gemma4:26b And it launches and points to the local model

I had the best success yet earlier today running https://pi.dev with a local gemma4 model on ollama on my m4 Mac with 48GB ram. I think pi is a lot lighter than Claude code.

This is very cool! I too have been very curious about ATProto after reading Dan Abramov's blog posts on it: https://overreacted.io/a-social-filesystem/ One question, I tried sharing your site with a friend and the

Thanks! I assumed simpler == faster, but my ignorance is showing itself. I am using the model they recommended in the blog post - which I assumed was using MLX?

I have an M4 Max with 48GB RAM. Anyone have any tips for good local models? Context length? Using the model recommended in the blog post (qwen3.5:35b-a3b-coding-nvfp4) with Ollama 0.19.0 and it can take anywhere between 6-25 seconds for a r

I keep emailing my (Labour) MP about this, I suggest you do the same! I get the standard "protecting the children" response. I am not voting Labour again if this madness is still in place (or worse!) at the next GE.

Oh actually, sorry I lied. I recently switched to Vanadium as my default browser which is the modified Chromium instance that ships with GrapheneOS. Apologies

I think maybe TLS would work if you were to go to https://service.yourts.net domain, but I've not tried that.

Same. I have protested over email about the Online Safety Act (amongst other things). I get a generic reply after 6-8 weeks with the same talking points. Legislation like this does not make children safer, it makes everyone else less safe.
